Tai Chi Ch'uan or Taiji Quan is a very popular and recognizable exercise. But the fact Taiji is a complete system of martial arts is hardly known. There are six major styles of Taiji Quan. The six styles are the Chen, Yang, Wu, Hao, Sun and Zhao Bao. I practice the Sun Style, which has three major components; the solo form, two person training, and swordplay.

Tai Chi is the most popular of the three major internal Chinese Kung Fu styles. This art is often practiced for the purposes of health and longevity. However, at one time T'aijiquan was considered to be one of the most deadly of all soft style martial arts. This art applies Lao Zi’s philosophy of relaxation or 'softness' to overcome the hard muscular strength of most martial art styles. Variations of Taijiquan training forms are practiced by groups of people every morning in hundreds of parks across China and the world. These slow motion routines teach awareness of one's own balance. They have also been known to teach moderation of one’s own behavior and attitude on a mental and a physical level.
